"Through some intense personal work I've been able to almost completely overhaul hating my body and the gym to seeing the gym as a way to feel strong and love my body no matter what size it is. Some days are easier than others and I still have creeping doubts every once in a while. So I had set the goal in the  fall of wanting to be able to "lift heavy shit" and run 10km by summer, LOL. Well I've been lifting for a while and I love it. But something else had to change. I realized over the 2016 Christmas break that I was still equating being smaller with being successful at the gym. And I suddenly realized that, well, that has never worked for me. It has never helped me get "smaller" or made me feel better about my body. That equation has never EVER made me love myself more. So I said, fuck it. And when I came back from Christmas break, I decided that my new goal was to be HUGE. I want to take up space. I want to lift huge things and be strong. So I told Chris Craig and of course, he laughed, and then he said, "let's do it!".
I'm so incredibly grateful to have a PT who listens to me and works with my goals and understands that I want to come from a place of love with the gym, not a place of punishment."
